Twitter Users talk of political culture, media and marketing during CICI

Meeting gathered twitter users from all over Brazil, but who has no twitter profile also participated

The meeting of cultural twitter users, yesterday afternoon, was not restricted to matters of culture. On the contrary - it became a lively debate, with great participation from the audience, where it was discussed not only the dissemination of culture through social networks, but also political, media and marketing.

The collaborative and multifaceted spirit began at the debaters table - all of them properly connected to their laptops - and the table of the mediator, Fernanda Musardo. Curitiba, one of the drivers of ETC Brazil - site that brings together cultural twitter users of several Brazilian cities, mediated the debate by opening the microphone repeatedly to the public. In view of all events, Fernanda received questions and participation by the twitter when little notes written by hand, many people in the audience admitted that they have the profile on Twitter and were there to learn about micro blogging and social networks. This way, the dialogue was broad spectrum, without any discrimination between the more or the less plugged ones.

Joking aside - as when a teacher from Rio de Janeiro asked if the twitter users drink "virtual beer", or when the ecologist José Pedro Naisser said he "almost married Yoko Ono" - themes that surfaced were relevant. Like when the Julia Andrade Pinto Ramalho, from the State of Minas Gerais, said that there are no formulas to use Twitter, make success or round up followers.

"Twitter does not belong to anyone. Social networking either - nor good ideas. This is the ETC: there is no centralization, and this is not a franchise that you sell in a ready format. Everything is always changing", he said - as it was confirmed by all the debaters of the table with the general statement that in social networks, leaders emerge all the time, from emergencies and circumstances.

Ney Queiroz, university professor, said that "Not being the center is the essence of Brazil ETC" everyone can, he said, and this is the essence of social networks.

For Julia, it must be a change of attitude toward the use of Twitter: instead of "What is happening," she said, it is more interesting to post "What I can see now." "The attentive look is what differentiates and makes the post to be interesting." For Queiroz, the fact that ETC speaks about culture is not determinant: "It is a social network that has culture as background".
