The current architecture should not only be structural, it should take into account the design and sustainability. This was the panel keynote "In search of a sustainable architecture", held on Thursday (11) during the International Conference on Innovative Cities (CICI2010). The panel gathered the architect representative of the Institute of Architects of Brazil, Paraná section (IAB-PR), Mirna Cortopassi and architect and the Japanese environmental urban planner, Mitsuru Senda.
"For the environmental harmony of the planet, the design of buildings must have integrability," defended Senda. "The most important thing is to know how look at the next, including it in the new urban environment, thinking of architectural forms that use renewable energy, using recyclable materials and new technologies that favor those buildings with benefits for citizens," said.
Mirna said that we must make people aware of what they have in their surroundings. "In areas of water sources, for example, many people in the community do not know of the existence of this natural resource. If there is communication, there will be change and conservation and government has to be more attentive to these issues".
