What happened on the first day at CICI2010

National and local press reflected positively the actions that happened on the first day of CICI2010.

Spontaneous encounters: The International Conference on Social Networks, which runs parallel to CICI2010, goes beyond the official program. Also spontaneous meetings are taking place in open space. If you want to exchange ideas with others, to propose your theme on the MURAL, located opposite the main entrance of Cietep events. The meetings can be at any time and place, and preferably not in conflict with other events of the CIRS. The MURAL is also a reference point for contacts among the participants.

Out and about on Twitter: Twitter of CICI2010 has started as a hit. The worldwide interest and cooperation of the participants are so great that the event took first place among the national microblog Trending Topics. When it was on the second place, it lost only to the actress Deborah Secco.

The world is here: Iconic figures move through the spaces of the Conference. A quick look to identify various nationalities. Languages and accents confirm the large number of lecturers and applicants from other countries. At the opening, it was easy to recognize the former mayor of Austin, Will Wynn, who was attending to the lectures dressed in suit and wearing the unarguable boots in Texas. Wynn will talk about the experience of their city on Thursday, the lecture "Creativity, courage and innovation for the development of Austin". 

Innovative projects on display: Projects for students and teachers of Senai and Sesi Paraná directed to the design of innovative cities and environments for developing the industry can be checked in the lobby of Cietep. The exhibition shows Inova-Innovative Cities brings together 26 projects and includes a series of parallel events of CICI2010. On Friday (12/03) will be announced and awarded the top three categories of teachers and students and the modalities of product, service and process

Orbis and We Can on focus: The movement We Can Paraná and the Center of Sustainability Indicators (Orbis), led by Fiep System received on the first day of CICI2010, visits the City Halls of Cairu (BA) and Maringa (PR), the official United Nations Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Worldwatch Institute (WWI). The visitors saw the work of mobilization and training of new agents that will work for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in the regions of Paraná. In Orbis, were shown Portal MDG and other publications and information systems that make available and accessible to the population of the 48 indicators of sustainability and achieving the MDG monitored by the Center. Brazil ready for Shanghai Expo: CICI 2010 was the scene yesterday of a presentation on what Brazil will take to 2010 Shanghai Expo, which starts on May 1 and expects to have 70 million visitors by October 31. The show - which theme is Better City, Better Life - will be attended by 200 countries. And the Brazilian pavilion, with the theme "Throbbing Cities" will have much to show, according to Maria do Carmo Zinato, of Apex Brazil. "The word throb says a lot about Brazil. We have the energy of the people, our huge creativity and diversity. On the technical side, we have examples of solutions for hydroelectric power stations and solutions to show to China, which is looking for a clean energy policy," she stated. Innovation in business - Rather than  the common sense spreads, the concept of innovation is not just linked to technology, but also covers services, processes and methods. This was the keynote of the panel "The Management of Innovation in Companies as Key to Development", which had the participation of Mario Barra, a board member of the National Research and Development of Innovative Enterprises (Anpei); Wolney Betiol, cofounder of Bematech and vice president of Fiep, and Ronald Dauscha, director of the Fiep System International Innovation. The panel highlighted the importance of innovation for enterprise development.

Innovation in universities - The panel "The Role of Innovation in the University" dealt with the need for interaction between academy and society as a path to sustainable development and increased competitiveness. The panel had the participation of Aguinaldo Santos, UFPR, Luiz Marcio Spinosa, PUC / PR, Gabriela Cardozo, the PUC / RS, Douglas Renaux, the UTFPR and Cristina de Araujo Lima, UFPR.

Innovative education - Learning based on teamwork, in which students from different grades work together, exchanging knowledge and information in contents covering several disciplines at the same time. A school where there is not the traditional row of desks, but round tables, and that actions in the community are an integral part of education. These are some points of the methodology applied in Sesi High School, presented at the International Conference of Innovative Cities (CICI2010) as a model of innovative education, a panel that filled the room of the Board of Cietep.
