Dear Colleagues, I have received notice of your very interesting conference on innovative cities in March 2010. Would you be interested in accommodating a presentation entitled "Public-private partnerships for urban regeneration in the Cape Town Central City: lessons from the first ten years of the Cape Town Partnership" a version of which I presented recently at the International Downtown Association (IDA) Congress in Milwaukee? (I am an IDA Board member). I am suggesting this for two specific reasons: 1. I believe we have developed certain innovative approaches to public-private partnerships for urban regeneration within the context of being a developing city in an emerging economy; 2. As one of the host cities for the 2010 Football World Cup, there may be particular interest amongst Brazilian cities preparing for the 2014 World Cup about how we have linked urban regeneration to our own World Cup preparations. I understand fully if your programme is already oversubscribed, but I think it would be important for you to perhaps include an African city perspective in your programme.
